| This website is designed to be used by teachers interested in incorporating solar-terrestrial science into their classroom. Specifically it is designed for teachers who are part of the HEMISPHERE Network. The web page contains hands-on activities to engage students in learning about basic electronics, space weather, and design. HEMISPHERE teachers are using Snap Circuits to build a research grade magnetometer to be used to measure geomagnetic oscillations. The search coil magnetometers are connected to a computer using National Instruments LabView. Teachers not formally part of the HEMISPHERE network can still utilize many of the activities outlined on the description page. In addition, the download page and links page contain material, hands-on activity ideas, worksheets, and links to useful sites. If you are a middle or high school science teacher interested in learning more about the HEMISPHERE project feel free to contact Professor Mark Moldwin (mmoldwin@ucla.edu) for more information |
